Council OKs plans for new commercial building on Wayzata Boulevard

A new commercial building will be built on Wayzata Boulevard.

On June 20, the Wayzata City Council approved the design, conditional use permits and variances for the new building, which will replace the now-closed Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Wayzata-based Nolan Properties Group is advancing the plans, which includes the demolition of the restaurant, which was constructed in 1961, and a complete revamp of the site at 1330 Wayzata Blvd. E. The new development will feature a 4,500 square foot building with 47 parking stalls.

As part of the submitted development application, the developer received approval of conditional use permits for drive-through facilities, use as a restaurant and use as a convenience food restaurant.
